The staff and students at Unionville Meadows Public School welcome the help of parents, relatives and senior citizens with open arms! Volunteer assistance is a significant and vital aspect of our daily programs. There are a variety of roles available to those who might like to give up some of their time. The following checklist gives your some idea of the extent of volunteer opportunities in the school:

Support the expectations of the School Plan for Continuous Improvement.
Create bulletin boards and children's art displays.
Be part of the classroom programs and help students improve their reading.
Support staff and students on the computers in the classroom and in the computer lab.
Calculate book club orders.
Help the librarian with book exchange and the technical aspects of the library.
Prepare instructional games and material (e.g. make a game board, print words on cards).
Help with special events (e.g. assemblies, music rehearsals, drama coaching, speech coaching, science projects).
Publish student's books in the classroom publishing centre.
Teach a mini-lesson on a topic of expertise or special interest (e.g. arts and crafts, science and nature, career information).
Sign-up and work with children on co-curricular activities and special events.
Accompany classes on school trips.
